"Watching Maggie gave me the courage to be myself." - By Kalie

Maggie Sawyer had an impact on me because she helped me, be me. When I watched her flourish and grow on Supergirl, I saw a strong woman. A woman who was outed at a young age, yet still pushed through her difficult childhood and became amazing.

Watching Maggie have a beautiful relationship and still go through hardships of not being accepted by her father gave me the courage to be myself.

Specifically, the time Maggie said this to her estranged father, "I finally understand, I don't need you to see me, or to get me, or to even like me! I don't need anything from you. I'm already good."

That's what got me to finally understand. I have to just be my own person. I don't need other people telling me who I am or should be. Only I get to decide, and I only know now because an outstanding character showed it to me.

If Maggie Sawyer were non-fictional, I would tell her what an impact she had on my life.
