When I first started watching Supergirl, I immediately fell in love with Alex. At the time, I was struggling with my gender identity and sexuality. It made me so happy to see that Alex’s character came out to be a lesbian because we need more representation in the media. Maggie was introduced and it made me love the show even more.

Maggie herself is so incredible. Maggie and Alex helped each other out and were there for each other. Not only were they romantic, but they were total badasses…girfriends who take down bad guys together stay together. Once, Floriana went live and people were requesting to talk to her so I joined in on that. I talked to her a bit and told her that Maggie’s story helped me realize that who I am is nothing to be ashamed of and that it also helped me to come out. She replied with “I didn’t help you come out, YOU did that. You’re strong.” It meant so much to hear that from her.
