When I first saw Supergirl, I fell in love. Not just with the show or ships, but with the characters.

Maggie was unfairly outed at the young age of 14 and that will always stick with me. A powerful woman went through a difficult childhood and still came out an angel.

Even though I live with a homophobic family and could be abandoned anytime, I always remember that Maggie never let her coming out bring her down. She got back up all on her own and did it with such grace and skill.

I want to be that, like Maggie. Never giving up. Maggie made me realize I had to always Get. Back. Up.
